Saturday I had to work, delivering mail. It was not so much (only 5 bags), but I was completely exhausted when I came home. Maybe I did not eat when my energy was low. When I am delivering mail, it costs a lot of energy, and I want to go on and on… And suddenly I will feel hungry, my body wants to have new energy. And I want to go on, not stopping to eat something. I can do that for some while, but then suddenly I seem to lose all energy at once. That happened when I came home. I had eaten while cycling home, but probably it was already too late. So, when I came home I was very tired.
Magda was away Saturday, she was with Celina to Kevelaer in Germany by car, and Magda has been driving the whole trip !
Yesterday Magda went to Deurne, a medium sized town 10 km away from Helmond. Again with Celina. But now Celina was driving in her car...
They went to Deurne because the shops were open on Sunday. (Usually shops are closed in NL at Sunday)
I had other things to do…
Sunday morning the alarmclock woke me very early. The stamp collectors society had an auction day.
In the morning I want to the location where we had stored all items. We had to auction 361 items. Many of the items were boxes with stamps. One item was a combination of about 20 (big) boxes, all filled with small boxes which contained stamps. In total estimated 1.000.000-1.500.000 postage stamps.
So, we unloaded the garage of the Theo Leijten and put all boxes in a big trailer.
At the auction room we unloaded the trailer and put all items in a row. At 11:00 people were allowed to enter and watch all items. That time we were walking around to watch if everyone was careful with all items.
At 13:30 the auction started in another room. About 50-60 people were present to bid on the items. I was at the table next to the auction master to check the bidding and doing some administration and controlling and helping the person who was at the computer, noting everything.
After the auction, two hours later, we had to print out the bids and the bidders could pay their bids. After paying the bids other helpers would find all items for that person and after checking the bidder could go home with his new items. As usual not everything was sold. We gathered all not sold items and they are now stored in our house, at the attic, in my previous office room.
The items will be stored there until Theo Leijten has talked to the owner what to do with the remaining items. Most of them will be go into auction again, but now for lower prices. But some owners want to have their items returned.
Magda had put the tree fern in the small room where we have the freezer and tour bicycles. But the fern was already to big for that room, so I have put the tree fern now in our living room downstairs. A sunny place.
Today is a quiet day for me. I will try to write some pages for my book. I have some ideas in my mind, I need to make a story of it and put it on (digital) paper. Magda is doing jobs in the house, sometimes asking me to help.
The photos (I did not see them myself):

I will look at the photos now and describe them.
First 9 photos were made in Kevelaer, Germany. Kevelaer is a small place close to the Dutch border and many pelgrims go to Kevelaer. Kevelaer was Dutch a few hundred of years ago, but it was given to Germany to correct the borders (NL received German territory in what is now NL, like Ravenstein and Thorn).
The other photos were taken in a Christmas show in Deurne. A shop, usually selling plants and flowers, but now in wintertime selling Christmas stuff… expensive stuff.
