PRP treatments are a new medical technology used in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries as well as for skin rejuvenation. Because your own blood is used, the treatment is very low risk and there is no danger of disease or allergies/anaphylaxis. Our nurse will draw a small amount of blood (similar to a standard blood test). Your blood will then be entered into a centrifuge which will separate your blood and extract the platelet rich plasma out. The platelets contain lots of special growth and healing factors, these will be activated using a special laser light. This activated PRP is then injected under the skin (or into the joint/tendon) which will stimulate new collagen formation and enhance skin rejuvenation. PRP contains large numbers of growth and healing factors which repairs skin, produces new healthy tissue and accelerates the normal healing process.
