AnalysisThe mean protection time and landing/probing percentages were used to compare deet activity in the 2 study designs as well as comparisons between study subjects and possible differences between male and female subjects. Differences within study trials comparing treated vs. untreated screened skin and screened vs. unscreened deet-treated skin were analyzed using a paired-sample t-test. Protection time between all 8 volunteers was compared using the Kruskal–Wallis test (Wilcoxon one-way analy- sis). Possible differences in protection time between genders were analyzed by using the Mann–Whitney U-test (Wilcoxon rank sum test) for 2 independent means. All tests were run using SPSS version 22.0
