Water deficiency significantly
affected the sabinene and terpinen-4-ol content but not
the DMPBD content (Table 1). The sabinene content increased
with increasing water deficit; the lowest sabinene (44.23%) content
occurred with no stress, and the maximum levels (52.89%)
occurred after a 120-day water deficit. There was a positive correlation
between water deficit and sabinene content (Table 2).
In contrast, the terpinen-4-ol content decreased with increasing
water deficit; it was highest (14.4%) after a 60-day water deficit
and lowest (10.41%) after a 120-day deficit. The DMPBD content
tended to decrease with prolonged water deficit and therefore it
displayed a negative correlation (Table 2).
