Manchester United ‘make second bid of £42.5m for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos’
Manchester United have returned to Real Madrid with an improved £42.5million offer for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, according to reports in Spain.
The Red Devils saw their initial £32m bid rejected by the Spanish giants last week and Louis van Gaal’s side have moved quickly with their second offer in the hope of capitalising on the unrest between player and club.
Ramos has two years remaining on his deal at the Bernabeu but is believed to be disillusioned with the club’s refusal to make him one of the club’s top earners and is thought to have asked Madrid to listen to offers for him in a meeting this week.
The 29-year-old has spent a decade in the Spanish capital following his move from Sevilla in 2005 and scored a crucial last-minute equaliser against neighbours Atletico Madrid in last year’s Champions League final.
