The Royal Ploughing Ceremony in Thailand is a religious Brahman/ Hindu ceremony dating back to Sukhothai Kingdom (1238–1438) in Thailand to forecast the quality of the future rice harvest. It is also celebrated in Cambodia and was celebrated in Burma from 500 A.D. until 1885 when the Burmese monarchy was abolished.
