Increasing dosage of DPS adsorbent increase the percentage
Mb dye adsorbed. The adsorption of MB dye onto DPS adsorbent
was observed to be very fast which might probably be due to the
presence of multiple functional groups present on the adsorbent
surface. pH has little effect on the adsorption capacity of DPS for
MB dye. This study developed mathematical models for the optimization of number of adsorption stages and contact time for the
adsorption of MB dye onto DPS adsorbent. It was observed that
five adsorption stages and ≈21 kg of DPS adsorbent is required to
remove 99% of 100 mg L−1 MB dye from aqueous solution.
