A new SEIG voltage regulation scheme with digitally
controlled ELC has been proposed which is found to be more
compact, cost effective, and reliable and provides quick
response. It is proven by a detailed modeling and analysis that
proposed scheme can regulate the output voltage from no load
to full load range with high performance. This controller is
being explored for both laboratory and field trials. It can sense
the change in voltage and adjusts the duty cycle of the
chopper switch within few milliseconds. It also provides
TRIAC triggering of additional capacitances in order to
provide better power factor. The system has been successfully
fabricated and preliminary tests carried out.
