Cleaning the optical windows with the approved cleaning materials
The next step is to use an optical grade lint free cleaning swabs (Fig 6) with Isopropyl Alcohol.

Warning: Use Isopropyl alcohol in a well ventilated area, away from sources of ignition. The analyser must be powered off before starting to use Isopropyl alcohol.
To aid the use of the cleaning swab the shaft can be gently bent to aid you in accessing the optical windows.
Warning: Do not use alternative cleaning agents, tissue paper, cotton buds or other fibrous or abrasive materials when the cleaning optics.
2) Apply Isopropyl alcohol sparingly to the pad of the cleaning swab and gently use the pad to clean each of the lenses in the optical chamber. Depending upon the environmental conditions where the analyser has been used, you may need to use more than one swab to clean each window.
3) After cleaning the optical windows with the swabs, leave the analyser for a few minutes to allow the alcohol to evaporate. Close and remove the Isopropyl alcohol before turning on the analyser, discarding any used swabs. If the cleaning has been effective, it will now pass the power on self-test. If the analyser passes then we recommend that you run control samples before running patient samples.
