Figure 6 indicates the results of repellency test expressed as the
number of P. interpunctella larvaes moving to the feeds with treated
and untreated microcapsules. The number of insects in only diets
was significantly higher than the number of insects in diets with
added microcapsules. Most insects moved to only diets to avoid
thyme oil, which was used as a repelling agent. In contrast, a few
insects shifted to the feeds mixed with microcapsules. The differences
of repellent effect among diets with the added microcapsules
were not significant (P < 0.05). For comparison of 2 diets with or
without added microcapsules, results were plotted as the repellency
percentage in Figure 7. Over time, the repellency percentage of
the mixture of diets and microcapsules was maintained at a high
