A variety of articles on the topic of theorganic chemistry lecture course have appeared in this Journal (1).
Te objectives of the six pillar approach are (i) buildingknowledge of organic chemistry upon a strong oundation of fundamental concepts; (ii) explaining and predicting a widevariety of chemical, physical, and biological properties of mol-ecules; (iii) conceptually uniting important features o general, organic, and biochemistry; and (iv) the early introduction andfrequent reinforcement of concepts in a memorable way.
