Greenhouse environmental control can provide optimum climate conditions for crop growth, which can increase crop yields and improve crop quality by changing the environment factors, such as the temperature, illumination and soil humidity (Gebbers and Viacheslav, 2010; Gelder et al., 2012).Accurate environmental monitoring and effective control strategies are the keys to realizing optimal greenhouse climate control. On the aspects of environmental monitoring, because the greenhouse usually has an extensive surface where the climate conditions can vary at different points, typical monitoring methods require a large amount of wires to distribute the sensors and actuators. Therefore, the system becomes complex and expensive, and the extra new sensors or actuators in the greenhouses are thus quite limited (Pawlowski et al.,2009).
