We were busy reviewing and investigating the data that we used to remove Peer Review privileges from accounts. To provide some information about why and what we did: As noted before, we have been trying to address a frequent concern brought up by our customers regarding peer review - that Peer Review is not done correctly by some users. Toward that goal, we are reviewing data about peer view accuracy and removing the privilege of doing PR from hundreds of accounts per week. In addition, in the last few weeks, we have been investigating and reviewing wrongly rated products that were submitted to our catalog by bad Creators as being GA while they were definitely Unfit for IMVU (UFI). This investigation led to us re-rating many thousands of products (all from a related group of Creators) in the last couple of weeks. The products themselves were submitted over a period of last few months. We will not be posting exact numbers, names of those users or links to the products here for safety reasons. As part of that discovery, we attempted to then find those users who passed these specific products during the Peer Review process. Though products can sometimes be tricky to note as being inappropriate or be borderline, these specific ones did not have such issue. They were clearly UFI as soon as you opened them in the client - and were not modified after the initial submission. This query yielded us many, many thousands of accounts who had given a passing vote to one or more of these products (again only from this specific list of UFI products). We selected those accounts that had seemingly passed 10 or more such products (to avoid affecting users who might have made a mistake). These accounts were then acted upon on Friday to remove their PR privileges. If you were indeed a user who had passed these UFI products in PR then we would expect your PR "accuracy" number still to be correct for such votes as those products indeed went into the catalog as GA - thus matching the passing votes. So this provides the context for what we were attempting to do in the interest of cleaning up the catalog and making sure PR process is improved for the future. Obviously based on the feedback received we went back to investigate the data that we used. As of now, we do not know where the discrepancy is, however, it is clear that there is one. So, here is what we are going to do next (by end of today - Sunday): 1) We will remove the PR ban from all the accounts that were affected with our action from Friday, October 4th. This will be completed by end of today - Sunday, October 6th 2) We will send a message to that effect to all such accounts. 3) We will continue to investigate our data query and will take action in the future on users who did pass clearly UFI products as being GA. We will ensure we have the absolutely correct data before doing so. Please accept our sincere apology in the confusion and inconvenience caused by our action on Friday. We will definitely strive to do better in the near and long-term future. Thank you for your patience as we worked through this issue._________________Varsha - Sr. Manager Community Experience
