The objective of the studies described herein was to
select isolates of the entomopathogenic fungi B. bassiana
and M. anisopliae for control of grain pests in
Brazil. Selecting fungal isolates simultaneously against
S. oryzae, S. zeamais, and R. dominica is justified due
to the importance of these insects as grain pests, and to
the occurrence of mixed infestations. Isolates which can
be highly effective against all three species are desirable
for a microbial control programme.
