A pretreatment of AC support to remove its impurities was done
by washing with 0.1 M NaOH and subsequently with 0.1 M HCl[22].
Then, it was treated with 30 wt. % solution of HNO3in a reflux
system for 2 h. The supported catalyst was produced by dissolving
the desired amount of HPA in (50:50 v/v) solution of deionized
water and ethanol. Wet impregnation method was used by contacting the support with the solution (4 ml/g of support) for 72 h.
The obtained catalyst was calcined at 453 K for 4 h. The catalyst was
characterized using a Micrometrics ASAP 2020 system
