In this study we used caged Mytilus galloprovincialis Lamarck
1819, P. oceanica leaves and epiphytes to examine the effects of
various nutrient inputs on a Northwest (NW) Mediterranean bay.
We assessed the isotopic ratios of carbon and nitrogen in these
organisms, which were harvested from different parts of the bay
and are diversely affected by nutrient input sources. This approach
was intended to discriminate between the influence of sewage outfall
vs. natural rainwater input in order to determine their impact
on a highly anthropized and touristic area.
