5. Conclusion
Despite the limitations noted, the present study provides
promising findings for the efficacy of this brief bibliotherapy treatment.
Our results are encouraging for future research, which will
need to identify moderators of treatment outcome, such as for
whom and under what conditions bibliotherapy treatment might
lead to positive treatment outcomes, as well as the mediators of
change. As a tiered approach, bibliotherapy may become a first line
treatment for low to moderate fears and anxiety disorders before
more resources are invested into longer-term weekly treatment
sessions in a clinic setting. Future studies are also needed to include
