Smartphones have been used more prominently in today’s society. Due to the entertainment and interest created by smartphones, many of us have become very addicted to these shiny, handheld devices. Smartphones have also begun to popularize texting and social media, making us not directly talk or interact with each other. Smartphones have also popularized social circles, creating a society where people do not venture out and talk with others outside of their social circle. As a result of our smartphone addiction; the inability of direct communication as created by texting and social media, and the smartphone’s promotion of social circles, smartphones have negatively impacted the social aspect of our society (Thesis Statement).
