805-263 INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION (Semester 1/2016)
Reflection Paper (20%)
This project is required students to work in group of 6-7 people, to search, reflect and analyze
their interests or experiences in intercultural communication issues in the form of reflection
paper with analyzing and making a 10-15 Minute Presentation (10%) of the paper.
Please form your group members and choose the topic which relates to intercultural
communication, then draft your ideas and discuss with your lecturer within October 3-4,
2016.
Reflection paper guidelines:
Your paper should follow the outline presented here:
1. Topic
2. Introduction– explain and discuss why you want to do this topic and why this topic is
important and interesting for the field of intercultural communication. This section should
be one that arises from the course readings that you are required to discuss about the
views from at least one author in the course readings.
3. Objectives of the study – what are your purposes of your study? What are you going to
focus and study?
4. Description of the study – Describe your topic in some details. You have to refer to
various points of your topic by organizing in clear sections. You must address
facts/details in different aspects that relate to the field of intercultural communication.
You need to make a citation of sources or facts/information from any
author/book/website that you want to reflect in your paper.
5. Discussion – in this section you must apply the insights you have learned in class, what
you have searched and add your related background knowledge to the topic of your
study. Provide your opinions and support them with intercultural studies you have
learned and searched. This is the way that you can exchange information or experiences
you have encountered in intercultural context. Do not forget to make a citation of any
source that you indicate in all sections when needed.
6. Conclusion – you have to make a conclusion by summarizing the results of your
argument/objective(s) and their significance for the relevant issues.

IMPORTANT!!
- All papers should be typed and printed 1.5 space by using Times New Roman, font
size 12 only. All students are expected to express your opinions and thoughts in clear
English sentences and organization of your paper.
- AVOID PLAGIARISM – students need to write a paper with care in citations by using
paraphrase or direct quotation, of the published or unpublished work of another person with
full and clear acknowledgement. Please do not ‘cut and paste’, because this is considered as
one form of plagiarism. It is internationally accepted that plagiarism is an unethical and
serious academic crime. Thus, if you ignore this academic dishonesty in this class, you will
receive a failing grade of this project and you are not allowed to present your paper.
