The second theme, student academic achievement and improvement was
documented throughout the mini-unit on atomic structure, the introductory unit on force
and motion, the motion and speed graphing unit, and ISAT preparation unit. Students
(N=96) demonstrated improvement in all test questions in the atomic structure unit.
Students demonstrated the greatest improvement, a 31% gain, in knowing the smallest
unit of matter (Figure 4). Students also demonstrated a 26% improvement in knowing
