Using sterile cotton swabs, standardized broth cultures of test bacterial isolates (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli) were spread aseptically onto the surface of Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA) plates. All culture plates were allowed to dry for about 5 min and wells made using a sterile cork-borer (6 mm in diameter). These wells were respectively filled with 60 μL of the fungal extracts and control.
