Korean Air is committed to advancing shareholder value through corporate transparency. To make
sure this transparency is effectively carried out, Korean Air maintains regulatory systems and
operating processes, including committees to monitor our corporate behavior.
Since announcing the company’s fair trade policies in 2004, Korean Air has maintained a compliance
program to encourage fair trade practices, while identifying and preventing unfair trade practices.
Korean Air has strengthened senior management training through new programs that provide
positive reinforcement for sound ethical choices.
Since 2001, the Korean Air Ethical Charter has provided guidelines for employees regarding ethical
behavior. It states that our employees will abide by the highest standards of corporate ethics in
their daily business activities. Since 2005, through mandatory courses at new member orientation,
Korean Air has helped employees make corporate ethics a habit. In 2011, a total of 2,200 employees
completed the corporate ethics course.
In addition, Korean Air operates an internal reporting system to help eliminate solicitations within
the organization, unfair or unethical conduct, and irregularities that may occur in transactions with
outside parties. Any such activities that are reported are fully investigated. We also have established
an Internal Accounting Control System, through which we can regularly monitor the efficiency of our
internal accounting management and the operating status of internal controls.
Korean Air is committed to transparent and principled management, and to acting openly and
responsibly to earn the trust of our shareholders, customers and public.
