After irradiation, adult rice weevils were separated from
the sealed packages and observed for 24 h to determine
whether they were dead. Then the mortality of adults was
calculated. Sample rice containing eggs was placed in jars
and cultured in a growth chamber at 251C, with a relative
humidity of 75%. The number of larvae was noted and
they were taken out every day for 1 month.
Adult insects were considered dead if no movement was
observed. Moribund and surviving adults were observed
