APEO pose a well-recognized risk in textiles, but current analyti-cal methods for their quantitation (GC and HPLC) are limited and are unsuitable to serve as a reference method. In contrast, the reaction-based HS-GC method presented in this paper moves beyond the selimitations to generate results with good precision (RSD < 10%) and accuracy (recovery between 95 and 106%). As this method is appliedmore broadly throughout the textile industry, it could lead to theadoption of a widely agreed-upon international standard method.
