Stratified random sampling was employed to select three schools from the strata-Boys' Girls', and co-educational schools. The initial concept of the study was to select only subjects with low self-concept
scores: However, on administration of the instmment (pre-test), it was found that there were no students with low self-concept. This could be as a result of parental involvement with the African child. Students
were therefore randomly assigned to the treatment and control groups.
