2 Material and Methods
2.1 Plant material
Fruits of C. grandis were collected in December 2008,
from Baramati localities (Maharashtra, India). The plant was
authenticated by Prof. R. B. Deshmukh, Department of Botany,
Shardabai Pawar Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Baramati; the
voucher specimens (PASR-115) were deposited in the herbarium.
2.2 Extraction
Dried powdered fruits (500 g) of C. grandis were extracted
with 95% ethanol in soxhlet extractor. Solvent was
evaporated in rotary evaporator dryness under reduced pressure
to produce ethanol extract of C. grandis fruits (ECGF)
