It was taken as the concentration giving the
lowest possible zone of inhibition. MIC for S. aureus
was measured by agar micro dilution method
(Shanmuga et al., 2000). The paper discs of different
concentrations (0.5, 1, 2 and 3 µg/ml) were placed on
the surface of the medium containing bacterial culture.
The zone of inhibition were measured at the diameter
of clearing and concentration at which minimum zone
was observed and recorded as MIC.
