Place-based education and inquiry are complementary
strategies as investigation is an inherent part of place-based learning. ‘‘Inquiry’’ in science education has definition of ‘‘structured inquiry’’ was used.With structured inquiry the teacher presents a question to which
the students do not knowthe answer. The students are then given a procedure to followin order to discover the
answer. In this research the students generated questions in the beginning of the unit and I chose five of these
questions and reframed them to guide the study of the local watershed
