Efficient functioning of enzymes in organic solvents
by any means opens up new possibilities of applications
in biocatalysis [1]. Different methods have been proposed
for retaining the catalytic power of enzymes and
making them functional in organic solvents [2,3]. One
such promising approach is to investigate the properties
of enzymes in a water-restricted environment which is
based on enzyme entrapment in reverse micelles and
some studies have been devoted to an understanding of
enzyme catalysis in this system [4].
