From the plates,
colonies of each organism were then transported to bi-plates (tryptic
soy-blood agar and eosin-methylene blue agar) for secondary
enrichment at 35 ◦C for 24 h. The organisms were then presumptively
identified based on colony characteristics and color. Further
characterization of each isolate was performed with gram stain and
biochemical tests according to Murray et al. (2003).
