Large amounts of evidence survives to tell us about Roman times. Archaeologists have discovered the remains of many Roman buildings throughout Roman empire lands, including palaces, forts, walls, aqueducts temples, hospitals, theatres and ordinary family homes. They have also found Roman works of art, together with glittering gold and silver coins, beautiful jewellery, fine pottery and delicate glass, and many tools and household objects used by Roman men and women in their daily lives.
