The study team assessed changes in the vulnerability profile of the agricultural system and livelihood groups, which may be altered by socioeconomic changes and by climate change. While Step3 looked at how the future context might change, here the focus was on understanding hoe the communities’ vulnerability profile might change in the new climate and socioeconomic context. Specifically, the team assessed community vulnerability to increased risks associated with more severe and frequent floods and droughts. The assessment was conducted for four farming systems is Lao PDR, for three farming systems in Viet Nam, and for a range of different crops (under the same farming system) in Thailand.
