Vouchers with download codes for Final Fantasy 15: Episode Duscae are going for roughly $30 on the auction site — some for a little less, but others are paying close to $40 for an early peek at the next big Final Fantasy game. Dozens of Type-0 HD owners are unloading their vouchers on eBay.
While the Final Fantasy 15 demo is likely helping to boost sales of Type-0 HD, a current-generation console port of a 2011 PlayStation Portable game, Square Enix would probably enjoy seeing some of that money from secondhand Episode Duscae sales come its way instead. Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda has previously voiced concern about the rigid business model of AAA games and expressed interest in generating revenue from games before they're pressed on disc and sold.
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One earlier this week, on March 17. For more on the game, read Polygon's review and check out gameplay video of Final Fantasy 15's demo.
