The woman was quite confident but slightly more deferential to the
men, particularly to the white man, and perhaps a little hesitant in
how she explained her views. The African–American man was an
expansive poetic storyteller; all of his dreams for the site were accompanied
by big gestures and powerful poetic language. He imagined
himself walking down the street and entering the courtyard, drinking
coffee in the corner café, explaining how it would feel to him.
