Regarding the effects of plant growth regulators on content of carbohydrates in petals (Fig. 6), in the controls, sucrose content markedly decreased at 1 day and remained at almost the same level. How- ever, glucose and fructose contents did not show any noticeable change. In the NAA treatment, a decrease in sucrose content seemed to be promoted and contents were maintained at a lower level compared with in the controls.
