If the recent speed and material advances in rapidprototyping
continues, along with the current advancement of
evolutionary design, it will soon be feasible to perform a widearray
of automated complex engineering optimization in situ,
whether on the micro-scale (e.g., drug design), or the macroscale
(e.g., wind turbine design). That is, instead of using mass
manufactured designs, EAs will be used to identify bespoke
solutions that are manufactured to compensate and exploit the
specific characteristics of the environment in which they are
deployed, e.g., local wind conditions, nearby obstacles, and
local acoustic and visual requirements for wind turbines
