Amongst the WRF tested for their biodegradation
capabilities Phanerochaete chrysosporium, Pleurotus
ostreatus and Trametes versicolor have showed great
promise for the bioremediation of pesticide polluted
matrices. DifferentP. chrysosporiumstrains were able
to rapidly degrade the herbicide diuron or the recalcitrant-rine insecticide lindane.
