The mid pool feeding station is the next area upstream. Trout here seek protection from the current by holding close to the stream bottom and thus must rise all the way up through the current to capture their food. For this reason it is not easy for a trout to feed efficiently here. Consequently the large trout often choose other feeding stations and leave the mid-pool area for the smaller trout.
