Pirate Seas is the second world in Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time. It is based on an old pirate ship on the open ocean. It is home to pirate zombies. It can be unlocked after beating Day 8 of Ancient Egypt, Wild West or Far Future using the World Key just given.

In this world, the player's lawn is split up into two sections. The first section, the half towards his or her lawnmowers functions as it normally would. The section towards the entry point for zombies is quite different. Planks connecting the zombies ship to the player's allow passage onto your lawn. While some rows don't have any planks, they can still be attacked by ambush zombies landing halfway across his or her lawn. The sections with the planks will function as normally, with the exception that a few plants cannot be planted on planks (such as the Potato Mine).

Game description
This year is 1679, the golden age of zombie piracy! Keep your booty close and your plants closer as zombies take to the sea to plunder your brains!

Order of Events
The player uses a World Key, thus, the player travels to this world. After Day 7, a map is shown, leading to "Treasure" saying "TREASURE, NOT ZOMBIES", however, it was a trap planned by the zombies and Dr. Zomboss, thus, they attack the player, yet, the wave of zombies are defeated, the player then finds another World Key. When the player reaches Day 25, Dr. Zomboss writes a note, claiming Penny may be a Zombot, he then attacks the player in his Zombot Plank Walker, but is defeated again. In retaliation, he travels to the Wild West.

Trivia
Except for the Zombie Parrot and the Gargantuar Pirate, all the zombies in this world have gold teeth.
In Day 8, there is a glitch where a Conehead Pirate will spawn and end up falling into the water due to being misplaced.
If the player looks closely, the Zombie ship has a skull with a pan on it, similar to Crazy Dave.
It is weird how the zombie does not come back as they do not breathe; therefore they can not drown, though it may be because they cannot swim.
There are times when the Imp Cannon shoots out Imps, the Imps fall into the water and unable to attack the player's lawn.
Maybe because of less water there are not aquatic plants for this world.
The water is a support in some ways as zombies can fall or slip in it (Like spring beans can take advantage) or zombies may not balance (Swashbuckler Zombie and Imps fired from Imp Cannon.
