Portfolio 3 is due Sunday 13th December. Remember your formal email structure when submitting this assignment! Your email subject should be Portfolio 3 Submission: (your name) or something like that.
If you have any questions or want me to check that you are on the right track with this assignment, please visit me in the office or send me an email.
I have attached (2) the assignment submission instructions , (3) the assignment cover sheet and (4) the self-assessment sheet to this email. Remember to submit (3) and (4) completed with your portfolio.
I have received a few questions about the final exam and I would like to explain the essay question more and give you the choices of questions in advance so that you can prepare. However, you are not allowed to bring any notes or other materials into the exam room.
The essay section of your final exam will ask you to choose one essay question from two options. The questions cover different topics but both questions require you to discuss problems and solutions and show your compare/contrast writing skills in your answer. There is no word limit but your essay must have a five paragraph structure (at least).
You should leave about one hour of your exam time to write your essay. Some students might prefer to start writing the essay first and then continue to other sections of the exam later. You should include a short essay plan on the first page.
You will be asked to answer one of the following questions:
1. Describe some of the problems that overcrowding in cities causes and suggest at least three possible solutions. Compare and contrast the overcrowding problems in Bangkok with another city with explanation and examples.
OR
2. Describe some of the problems that our reliance on technology causes and suggest at least three possible solutions. Compare and contrast at least two different types of technology and explain how we have come to rely on them.
I have updated the exam cover page and attached it (5) to this email for your information.
I hope this helps you to prepare for your exam more effectively.
If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask.
