The market is about 63 miles from Bangkok and worth a visit when staying there.Today the market has become a major tourist attraction, but you can still get an idea of how water transport played a big part in daily life. The land around here is naturally fertile and the farmers use the canal as a reliable water source.
A nice way of reaching the market is by a long tailed boat (James Bond boat),as from the boat you can see how the locals live on the banks of the canal in wooden shacks. At the market locals will be selling fruit, vegetables and even cooking food for sale from their boats. There is also large buildings either side of the canal where goods of all descriptions are sold.
