3. Results and discussion
3.1. Proximate analysis
Table 2 shows the results obtained from the proximate analysis. Paddy dregs had the highest moisture content of 8.00 wt.%, while that of tree bark was the lowest (1.17 wt.%). Sawdust contained a very high percentage (86.33 wt.%) of volatile matter and tree bark the least (58.98 wt.%). The highest percentage of ash was observed for rice husk (19.67 wt.%) and the lowest for root (1.00 wt.%). Tree bark showed the highest percentage of fixed carbon (23.44 wt.%), while rice waste had the lowest (4.00 wt.%).
