Proposed strategies for communicating the policy change
Participants made recommendations for how the information
regarding phasing out the free formula milk policy could be
communicated to them. It was interesting to note that they
were conversant with the principles of the social marketing
approach to communication. They indicated how people were
different and that one channel of communication may not
appeal to all. In view of this, they proposed a multifaceted
information dissemination strategy. They recommended the use
of the following communication channels: television, radio,
pamphlets, notices, newspapers, billboards, posters and
meetings:
