indicating the species as B. subtilis. Similarly, HiCrome Bacillus agar was used for the identification of species like B. cereus, B. licheniformis [23], B. subtilis [33] and B. thuringiensis [34]. Usually, the selective supplement polymyxin b enables growth of B. cereus and B. thuringiensis and inhibits growth of other Bacillus species. In this study, growth of six isolates was slightly inhibited by the selective supplement, which was in contrast to the property of the medium. Hence, this method could be used as an excellent inexpensive method for identification of B. subtilis species.
