Diaper Manufacturing
The company owned seven textile machines comprised of one (1) single knit, 250 cm width unit that produced sheers, etc.; two (2) double knit, 250 cm width units that produced panty hose; five (5) small circular knitting machines; and one (1) large 80 cm diameter circular knit machine. The small circular knitting units, in addition to being able to produce socks, could manufacture a very absorbent inner liner for the diapers. This feature gave the firm a distinction in that it could be claimed that diaper was an all-cotton, environmentally friendly “green” product. diapers were produced in a seven-stage operation that proceeded from a cutting operation to a final sewing of Velcrotabs. Waterproof pants used a four-step operation. All products were packaged and stored in cartons awaiting shipment to the customer.
