Venus enters Aries today, and all Venus-ruled issues (relationships, values, beauty, money, self-esteem) are ignited. Aries is the sign of impulse, initiative and primal instincts (sex and anger). Aries is also the first sign, so it’s a fresh start for Venus.
What Venus wants is emphasized, so competition and jealousy can be issues. But this is also the time to fight for what you want. Venus in Aries puts herself first and does not hesitate to go after what looks good. This is done in a Venus-type manner, of course. She’s not Mars (although she’s in his sign). She’s assertive about making her desires known, and she initiates situations by making it obvious that she’s ready/available. She’s not coy, or guilty, or ashamed; she sees no reason to be. She wants what she wants. End of story.
She’ll be moving through Aries in your chart, and that’s the area of your life where you can give yourself a makeover (literal or metaphorical) or get assertive about what you want to attract (in the context of the natal house Aries occupies). Yes, the South Node is in Aries. And yes, Mars (Aries’ ruler) is in Libra (ruled by Venus). This makes things a bit more complicated, and I’ll write more about it as Venus approaches the opposition to Mars (May 11th) and the conjunction to the South Node (May 27th). Plus, she’ll be conjuncting Uranus and squaring Pluto (May 14th to 15th).
For now, know that the best use of this transit is to pump up your initiative and heat up stale situations. It’s especially good for giving your self-esteem an injection of juice. The Mercury/Saturn opposition is culminating today, so this feels like an awareness of limits, followed by reasons to start fresh or move forward. Venus in Aries does not ponder or wallow. There’s fresh opportunities, and if you can’t see them, attract them.
