Panel B shows rod-like organisms, but at closer look they appear to be chains of cocci, a typical feature of aerobic vaginitis caused by group B streptococci. Panel C shows the ‘toxic’ leukocytes, full of lysosymic granules. Panel D shows the typical aerobic vaginitis flora, and illustrates the parabasal cells.
