The most impressive advantage of CA is the analysis of verb meaning. For one thing, CA reveals semantic features of verbs which help relate their different senses. For example, a typical component of the verb go is the [+go] feature, which is associated with change of various sorts. As illustrated in (30), the [+go] feature, relates the use of the verb go in three different types of sentences. Since they have the [go] feature as part of their meanings, they all occur with a subject undergoing some kind of change and the to complement expressing the endpoint of that change (O’Grady et al. 2001).
