The findings indicate that age appears to have a stronger relationship with the
likelihood of searching for a new job. Workers ages 16 to 24 were more actively seeking
for employment opportunity than persons’ ages of 25 and older. However, as the labour
market tightened over the 1995-99 period, the likelihood of young workers to seek new
jobs declined, particularly when compared with the job-search rate of workers age 25
and older.
