to sexual abuse more often than heterosexual youths
(19). Few, if any, studies have been based on a fully representative
sample of adolescents in a single country as
a way of learning the characteristics and experiences displayed
by adolescents who have sold sexual services. To
our knowledge, there are no studies that discuss the
prevalence of self-harm behaviour or the prevalence of
seeking help and support among the adolescents who have sold sex, nor are there any studies reporting how
these adolescents experienced the help and support they
received.
